Peer review and publication

Criteria for publication

Total number of pages: 2 to 4 pages (for abctrscts) and from 5 to 25 pages (for articles).

The article should include following mandatory elements, as required:

1. Title of the article (in the language of article’s origin) - uppercase letters, bold Times New Roman font, 14 points, center-aligned text.

2. Author's last and first names, scientific degree and rank (if any), position (if any), full name of the place of work or study (in the language of article’s origin) - regular Times New Roman font, 12 points, right-aligned text.

3. Scientific adviser's (if any) last and first names, his/her scientific degree and rank, position, full name of the place of work – regular Times New Roman font, 12 points, right-aligned text.

4. Summary (250 to 2000 characters) and keywords (not less than 3 words) (in the language of article’s origin) – regular Times New Roman font, 12 points, alignment in width.

5. The text of the article with the necessary elements (may not be clearly separated by titles) - regular Times New Roman font, 14 points, alignment in width.

- Formulation of the problem. The authors briefly introduce the reader to the topic of the research, the current state of scientific knowledge in the field, briefly characterize the problem and its relation to important scientific or practical tasks.

- Analysis of research and publications. In this part of the article, the authors mention and briefly describe the works in which the solution of the chosen problem is initiated and the works that are based on in their research; highlight the previously unresolved parts of the general problem that the article deals with.

- The purpose of the article. The authors determine the usefulness of their own article; the purpose stems from the formulation of a general problem and a review of previously performed research.

- Main material. In this section, the authors highlight the main focus of the research materials, mention the methods, approaches, models and tools used to solve the problem, present research materials with full justification of the scientific results obtained.

- Conclusions and suggestions. The authors write conclusions from their own research and briefly present prospects for further development in this direction.

6. References (not less than 2 sources) - regular Times New Roman font, 12 points, alignment in width.

7. Title of the article, full name of the author(-s), scientific adviser (if any), their place of work and study, country, abstract, and keywords in English and Ukrainian (if article language is different) - regular Times New Roman font, 12 points, alignment in width.

Peer review process

The editorial office of «Grail of Science» journal carries out internal peer review of articles submitted for publication and provides external peer review in accordance with the double-blind peer-rewiew procedure, based on the principle of objectivity and in accordance with international standards of publishing ethics – COPE Code of Conduct (Peer review processes).

The order of reviewing manuscripts in the journal «Grail of Science»:

  1. The review (expert evaluation) of manuscripts is carried out in order to maintain a high scientific and theoretical level of the journal «Grail of Science» and to select the most valuable and relevant scientific papers and high-level reviewers.  
  2. In the «Grail of Science» journal the principle of Double-blind review (double-blind (anonymous) review) has been applied to ensure confidentiality. The reviewer does not disclose personal information of the author(s). The author(s) do not disclose the personal data of the reviewer.
  3. Scientific manuscripts submitted to the editorial office are subject to initial control by the editorial office regarding compliance with the journal's profile, completeness and compliance with their design in accordance with the requirements for manuscripts set out on the website.
  4. The primary expert review of a scientific article is done by the editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief.
  5. After the primary expert review, the editorial office check for plagiarism. Manuscripts are checked using StrikePlagiarism.com software.
  6. The editor-in-chief (deputy editor-in-chief) determines for a published article the reviewer. Reviewers should be known specialists in the subject matter of the submitted manuscript and have publications in this field of research. Each reviewer has the right to refuse a review if there is an explicit conflict of interest.
  7. When reviewing scientific manuscript, reviewers should evaluate: 1) - relevance of the scientific problem raised in the research; 2) - methodological level of the research; 3) - scientific, theoretical and applied (if any) value of the performed research; 4) - correctness of the given mathematical calculations, graphs, drawings; 5) - correlation of conclusions of the author with available scientific concepts; 6) - adherence by the authors of the requirements of scientific ethics, correctness of references.
  8. After an expert evaluation of a scientific manuscript, the reviewer: 1) - can recommend a manuscript for publication; 2) - can recommend a manuscript for publication after its after its finalization, taking into account the expressed comments and wishes; 3) - recommend a manuscript for additional review by another specialist; 4) - do not recommend a manuscript for publication. If the reviewer recommends a manuscript for publication after its revision or does not recommend a manuscript for publication, the reason for such a decision should be indicated in the review.
  9. Scientific manuscripts may be sent for additional review in cases: 1) - insufficient qualification stated by the expert in the issues that are considered in the scientific article; 2) - insufficiently high level of initial expert judgment; 3) - an acute discussion of the provisions expressed in the scientific article.
  10. The reviewer sends the completed and digitally signed review to the editorial office by e-mail. The editors inform the author(s) of the scientific manuscript of the results of the review.

Publishing frequency

This journal is published monthly, publishing one issue per month.

Publication fees

For publishing an article in the Grail of Science, authors pay only the publication fee for accepted by reviewer articles. There is no fee for accepting or submitting an article for publication.

The editorial board of the Grail of Science offers its authors flexible tariffs, depending on the number of pages of a scientific paper.

The publication fee for abstracts (2 to 4 pages) is 500 UAH.

The publication fee for articles from 5 to 10 pages is 600 UAH.

The publication fee for articles from 11 to 25 pages is 700 UAH.
